Some (un)interesting facts

FACT #1: Laura has a total of 25 mosquito bites on her body, 90% of which are on the left-hand side. Dave has yet to receive a single mosquito bite (Laura is a good insurance policy, me thinks!)

FACT #2: Most Khmer people are up and getting on with their day by 5:30am. They will eat breakfast by 6am, lunch around 11am and dinner about 5pm. We are continually walking into restaurants, cafes, etc at UK eating times only to find few people there and sometimes little food left too!

FACT #3: Khmer people love Karaoke. They have several TV stations devoted to sing-a-long Karaoke songs and can regularly be found in local Karaoke bars, practicing their stuff. We have even seen a TV with a karaoke machine in the slums of Phnom Penh!

FACT #4: At the moment, it is officially illegal for non-Cambodians to adopt Cambodian children and take them abroad. Although there is an overwhelming need for orphaned and abandoned children to find loving homes, the growth of sex traficking has panicked the Government which has put a freeze on international adoptions. We know several US/UK families that have adopted Cambodian kids, one couple has even ended up with a total of 7 kids!!!

FACT #5: Cambodian cows aren't fat enough to produce milk, so its all imported from other parts of the world. These are some moooo-ving prices!
